Explore Jawline Slimming and Contouring with Injectable Neuromodulators in Albuquerque

A square jaw or lower jaw area that juts out at the sides can be caused by increased bulk in the masseter muscles at either side of the jaw. Some people are bothered by a heavier or bulkier look to the lower face, which can be caused by enlarged or overworked facial muscles. Masseter BOTOX® in Albuquerque, or masseter muscle BOTOX®, is a way to alter the shape of the lower face for patients who want to address this, giving you a slimmer-looking jawline. If you have been looking for “masseter BOTOX® near me” or “masseter BOTOX® cost,” Our Western Dermatology Consultants team can provide further details on how BOTOX® treatments work, their pricing, and more.

What Is Masseter BOTOX®?

Your jawline frames your other facial features, and jawline definition can convey a youthful appearance in general. This is why your jawline’s shape and appearance are more important than some people may think.

Masseter muscles are some of the main muscles responsible for the action of chewing. You have two masseter muscles—one on each side of the jaw. They work with several other muscles to help pull the jaw down and then back up again. Overworking the masseter muscles due to emotional stress or chronic grinding or clenching can contribute to overuse—and a corresponding increase in size—of these muscles. BOTOX® for the masseter muscles is a procedure that involves injections of botulinum toxin type A into the enlarged muscles to reduce their activity and gradually reduce their size. This creates a more defined and contoured jawline.

Patients are often curious about the topic of masseter BOTOX® and sagging on the lower face. Loose, sagging skin below the jawline is referred to as “jowls,” but masseter BOTOX® has not been shown to cause this laxity-based problem.

Masseter or Jaw BOTOX®: Does Masseter BOTOX® for TMJ Work?

Along with its benefits for reshaping the lower face, jawline BOTOX® also has therapeutic uses. Masseter BOTOX® for TMJ relaxes tense jaw muscles to provide relief from pain associated with chronic clenching of the jaw.

What Else Can You Treat with BOTOX®?

Masseter BOTOX® is just one out of many cosmetic and medical treatments with BOTOX®.

  • BOTOX® under the eyes can help with shrinking the muscle that appears when smiling or softening wrinkles under eyes.
  • BOTOX® around the amouth can soften smoker’s lines or lift downturned mouth corners.
  • Trapezius BOTOX® can slim down the neck and make shoulders look less broad.
  • A BOTOX® brow lift elevates the height of the eyebrows.
  • BOTOX® for the neck restores a smoother and more youthful-looking neckline.
  • BOTOX® for migraines is a medical treatment that works for migraine headaches by blocking chemicals that carry pain signals.
  • Underarm BOTOX® helps to reduce sweating in this area that’s associated with hyperhidrosis.

Beyond Jawline or Masseter BOTOX®: Which Other Treatments Are Available for the Lower Face?

Western Dermatology Consultants provides a complete range of medical and aesthetic treatments. In addition to BOTOX®, we offer hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm® Volux® to help improve the structure and definition of the jawline, along with other fillers that can complement this, like Voluma® to enhance the mid-face and cheeks. Unlike masseter BOTOX®, fillers don’t affect the underlying muscles. These injectable gellike treatments are injected into the skin and add volume, enhancing the appearance of the skin or the contours of the face. They can address wrinkles such as nasolabial folds or plump and volumize the lips.
